“What am I supposed to do?” Oceana said, grumbling to herself. Sitting on the couch with the fireplace crackling, she gazed through the foggy windows of her house. It was a rainy, cloudy, and cold Sabbath afternoon after church and Oceana was bored out of her mind. She wasn’t supposed to use her phone that day because she’d been grounded. There was nothing to do. Nothing at all. That is until a thought flashed through her mind. “What if I could take a video of me speaking about the Bible?” It sounded like fun to Oceana, so she jumped on the task and started writing the script that evening. Now Oceana was no professional screenwriter, but in her heart, she knew that God would help her.

Finally, the script was finished, and it was time to film. “But I need a good background…” Oceana thought to herself. She set up a “filming studio” by hanging a big white bed sheet over her dining room window. Oceana smiled to herself, “That’s better.” Satisfied, she went to look for a tripod or something she could set her phone on for recording. Finding no tripod that would work, she stacked pillows on top of a chair to reach the right height. Oceana was ready. She clicked the record button and started talking. But she couldn’t stop messing up! Time after time Oceana kept failing the video, and who knows how many times she hit that record button again. “Maybe this isn’t my thing. Why can’t I get this right?!” Stopping the video, Oceana said a silent and simple prayer, “God, I need your help, please help me.” With a weak smile, she tried several more attempts until she was satisfied with the result. Then, she posted it on social media.

For several weeks, Oceana continued making these short, encouraging videos. But God was calling her to an even greater purpose. Oceana felt God calling her to start a ministry that would reach the world through videos about Bible truth. She reached out to friends from her school and asked them if they wanted to join her ministry. Soon, six people replied to God’s call to join “Here I Am Send Me”. The Here I Am Send Me ministry has been blessed by God, reaching people on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and their website.
